Abstract.
In this talk I will define what an unexpected curve in P2 is. The study of unexpected curves is an interpolation problem, related with the SHGH conjecture. They were introduced in a paper by Cook, Harbourne, Migliore and Nagel in 2017, in which the authors present an example of configuration of points which admits an unexpected 4-ic. I will prove this is the only possible one, up to projectivity, and illustrate some generalizations in higher degree.
