Abstract.
The braid group is a major player in a number of areas, and therefore the understanding of its most natural linear representations is important.
Basic representations include the representations of the Iwahori-Hecke algebras, and a natural question is to understand the image of the braid groups inside the corresponding linear groups. In this talk I will present joint work with Olivier Brunat and Kay Magaard in which we determined this image over a finite field.
