the University of Edinburgh will have quite a few post-doc positions to start in the autumn 2019 that are open to algebraic geometers. All positions have a light teaching load, or no teaching load with the opportunity to volunteer a light amount of teaching.
1. Seggie Brown fellowships - a 2-year post-doc open to all areas of mathematics. Deadline November 16. https://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/school-of-mathematics/jobs/william-gordon-seggie-brown-research-fellowship

2. There will be one 3-year post-doc associated to the programme grant "Enhancing Representation Theory, Noncommutative Algebra and Geometry" (http://hodge.maths.ed.ac.uk/tiki/Enhancing), closing date January 3. There will also be a 3-year post-doc on the same grant in Glasgow; the advertisement is already online: https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/13075
3. We will advertise for up to two 3-year post-doc positions attached to an ERC grant "Wall-crossing and Algebraic Geometry" of myself. Closing date will be early/mid December.
4. There will be a 2-year position attached to Ben Davison's ERC grant "Categorified Donaldson-Thomas Theory".
5. We also anticipate a number of "Whittaker fellowships". These will be 2-year positions, open to all areas of mathematics.
