Illinois is hiring for an endowed professorship this fall. There’s an advertisement here: https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/12659 I would be grateful if you would pass it along to anyone that you think might conceivably be interested. I note a couple of salient points: 1. An application consists of a cover letter (which can be completely perfunctory), CV, and publication list, so anyone potentially interested could apply in perhaps 5 minutes. 2. The university routinely makes serious efforts to locate appropriate employment for partners of faculty it hires, including not only faculty appointments but also positions in the broader community (and of course this happens while offers are open). [Some of our faculty also commute from Chicago for related reasons.]
