The Algebraic Geometry Research Group in Bergen invites applications for
1) A PhD position with starting date October 2017 (flexible). The position is granted for three years and comes without teaching duties. We offer a competive salary (the position is a Level 50 of the Norwegian Civil Service, which grants a gross income of 432 700 NOK per year) and all the welfare benefits of public employment in Norway. 2) A postdoc position with starting date July 1st 2017 (mildly flexible). The position is granted for 2 years and comes without teaching duties. Beside a competitive salary (the position is a level 57 of the Norwegian Civil Service, which grants a gross income of 486 100 NOK per year), and all the welfare benefits of public employment in Norway, we offer a travel grant for attending conferences and visiting (or inviting) collaborators. In addition the succesful applicant will have the opportunity to apply to the NFR for further research funds. The deadline for applying is April 1st. Both positions are part of the research project "The Arithemtic of Derived Categories" (http://www.folk.uib.no/sti004/Project.html) funded by the NFR. Knowldege of the Norwegian language is not required.
