Dear colleagues,

The following postdoctoral positions are available at National Taiwan University, in Taipei.

Research Areas and Type of Position The Department of Mathematics of the National Taiwan University invites applications for three postdoctoral positions in the domain of algebraic geometry or complex geometry, funded by NSTC grant awards to Jungkai Chen and Hsueh-Yung Lin. Our research interests include, but not limited to, minimal model program, singularities, moduli spaces of varieties, geometry in positive characteristic, derived categories, algebraic and complex dynamics, topology of algebraic varieties, and birational classification theory. There are no teaching duties, however it is possible to arrange teaching at the NTU if one prefers to do so. The terms of these positions are three years. The starting date is flexible, preferably on April 1 or August 1, 2023.

Research in Taipei
As part of the National Taiwan University, the mathematical research environment in Taipei comprises the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) and the Academia Sinica . The association with NCTS and joint activities yield a steady stream of visitors, particularly with conferences or regular seminars (such as the Seminar of Algebraic Geometry in East Asia).

Salary Range
The annual gross salary is adjustable, depending on the level of research quality and experience. According to the payment scheme of NSTC (National Science and Technology Council), the payment ranges from NTD 800,000 to 1,000,000 and will be paid with 13.5 monthly salaries a year. Health care with very low cost is included. After tax and insurance for health and labor, a rough estimate of the net salary would lie within NTD 760,000 and 950,000 (approximately, USD 27,300 to 34,200, or EUR 23,300 to 29,100; tax rates depend on the candidate’s personal situation).
