Lukas Lewark is looking for a postdoc in the fields of low-dimensional topology/knot theory to join his DFG-funded Emmy Noether Independent Junior Research Group on "Quantum invariants, knot concordance and unknotting" at the University of Regensburg. The postdoc position is for 18 months, and will most likely be prolonged by a further 6 months. Starting date is September 1st 2020, or by agreement. The salary is TV-L E13 100%, i.e. roughly 2400 Euro net per month. There is ample travel funding, there are no teaching duties, and no knowledge of German is required. Regensburg has a strong research group in low-dimensional and geometric topology, including Jonathan Bowden, Stefan Friedl, Clara Löh, Filip Misev and Raphael Zentner. Send your application (including a CV, a research statement, and the contact details of two referees in the text of your email) by email to lukas(AT)lewark.de. Starting mid-January, I will review applications until the position is filled. Among equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to applicants from groups that are underrepresented in mathematics. Please contact me by email with any questions you might have.
