The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "Collaborative Workshop for Women and gender-expansive Individuals in Algebraic Geometry (WIAG 3)" workshop in Oaxaca, from June 13 - 18, 2027.
The network for women and gender-expansive Individuals in Algebraic Geometry (WIAG) was created in 2020 in order to increase the visibility and participation of gender minorities in algebraic geometry and to strengthen the network of such researchers in the field. The workshops provide an opportunity to involve graduate students and early-career mathematicians in research at the forefront of algebraic geometry.
The scientific program for this workshop will focus on in-person collaboration on open research problems in algebraic geometry. Participants will join project groups composed of a senior and junior participants and will spend the workshop engaged in focused and substantive research. WIAG projects have the potential to grow into fruitful long-term research alliances that have a transforming influence on participants' careers as well as a significant impact on the research landscape in algebraic geometry.
